Normalization of Woodworth Test to Study Emotional Disorder of Adolescents in Tehran

Abstract
Considering the fact that emotional disorders disturb adolescent’s life and absence of reliable tool to measure it in Iran, the necessity to identify and prevent it and create the background for further studies resulted in conducting present study. Therefore, 580 adolescents were selected using multistage random sampling. This is a descriptive and exploratory study. Data were collected using descriptive statistics, Cronbach’s alpha, PCA, factor oblique rotation and t-test. then table of percent and categorical norms was created. Results showed the reliability coefficient of tools to be 0.9. After principal components analysis, eight factors were extracted including paranoid thoughts, antisocial behaviors, withdrawal, irritability, depression, aggression, obsession and psychasthenia. The tendency towards these disorders was low in the samples and this low tendency was more prevalent in boys than girls. Results of this study can be used as a useful tool to be used in psychological studies and measure emotional disorders of adolescents in Tehran.
